Make in India Magazine

Editorial Design

Designed for India by India

When Condé Nast Traveller sought to celebrate India’s thriving culture, craftsmanship, and innovation through its Make in India magazine, they turned to us for a design that would encapsulate the essence of India’s dynamic spirit. Make in India magazine was Condé Nast India’s exclusive India title for which everything had to be designed from scratch. Our creative approach was rooted in showcasing India’s rich traditions alongside its modern advancements, presenting a narrative that’s as vibrant as it is forward-thinking.

We crafted a visually stunning design for this special edition, ensuring each page embodied a story that resonated with the country’s ethos of creativity, resilience, and craftsmanship. From elegant typography to a colour palette inspired by India’s diverse landscape, the magazine’s design was a testament to the country’s unique identity. The layout was carefully curated to provide a seamless reader experience, balancing the magazine’s engaging content with bold visual elements. The biggest challenge while designing the cover was to include the lion on every issue’s cover for which Truetype came up with unique ways to bring the lion to life everytime. For one of the issues the lion was designed to be on the move with the help of a hologram also making it India’s first holographic magazine cover. Or when the lion was turned into a lioness for the Women’s Special Issue.

The Make in India magazine wasn’t just designed to inform-it was designed to inspire. With a sleek, modern aesthetic interwoven with cultural symbolism, we ensured the publication stood out as a true celebration of India’s journey toward global prominence. Each design decision was made with meticulous attention to detail, reflecting both the editorial vision of Condé Nast Traveller and our commitment to innovative design.
