Simplifying circular fashion

Shopop is a platform that aims to make fashion retail more sustainable. It takes a circular fashion economy approach, partnering with brands to liquidate unsold or slow-moving inventory on their website. This allows buyers to access stylish products and develop better shopping habits going forward.

They approached Truetype to name their business and set up their brand identity systems as well as their digital experience.  We arrived at the name ‘Shopop’ from the client’s brief about how their business model is an opportunity to shop international fashion brands and products that are not readily available in the country and are one season behind and how each item is basically a trial or sample piece for the buyer.

The approach for the brand identity systems was lifestyle-centric with a specially curated wordmark as the logo with the connected circles of ‘o’ and ‘p’ of Shopop that shows the infinite loop of sustainable consumerism with a circular fashion model. The responsive logos were designed with a hint of playfulness in the overall brand aesthetic and can be used in places where there is space constraint like social media posts. The font used is Poppins which is modern and new. Though the business is accessible to all, the client specifically wanted the logo to be black and white to depict the luxury and exclusiveness of the products. The primary colour palette is dark with black, blue, and grey, whereas the secondary colour palette is more vibrant with light blue, yellow, and green that brings the sustainability arch into the branding.
